- NDS Signed an MOU with VSQUARE to Codevelop a Cloud-Based E-Learning Market
This partnership deal enabled both companies to accelerate their entry into the domestic e-learning market by integrating NDS’ cloud services with VSQUARE’s online learning management system (LMS).
Because of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, there has been a growing interest in creating an effective remote learning environment for online content, such as video lectures. Besides, the more educational institutions use cloud technology, the faster the e-learning market adopts Software-as-a-Service (SaaS).
In general, cloud-based LMS is more flexible than on-premise LMS as it can expand or reduce its service scope depending on the number of users or the amount of usage. Furthermore, it is less prone to service disruptions because of heavy traffic, being able to cut operating expenses accordingly when demand decreases. Thus, educational institutions and companies can benefit from cloud-based LMS that can be easily adopted at their desired time and reduce one-time and operating expenses.
As a partner of Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the public sector, NDS is planning to provide technical support to build a SaaS application of VSQUARE’s LMS solutions in AWS Cloud. NDS and VSQUARE will also collaborate to acquire new customers. To celebrate this partnership, they will leverage co-marketing efforts by carrying out a promotional campaign that involves offering “cloud-based LMS” to educational institutions, including colleges and small- and medium-sized enterprises for free for up to three months.
Hong Seongwan, Head of Strategic Business Division at NDS, emphasized that “SaaS LMS allows us to create a stable e-learning environment while successfully cutting business costs.” He also mentioned that “NDS will exert every effort to provide whole new remote e-learning services to its customers by signing this MOU.”
“VSQUARE has been getting a range of assistance from NDS and AWS in developing optimal cloud-based LMS services. Hopefully, carrying out a co-marketing campaign with NDS will accelerate the spread of cloud-based LMS services in the domestic e-learning market,” said Lee Sanggyu, CEO of VSQUARE.
